Zella Murphy

ZELLA MURPHY, 94, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at her home. Born in Dickeson Co., Va., she lived in Caretta, W. Va. for 61 years, where she operated a boarding house for several years before moving to Churubusco in 1990. Her husband Hobert died in 1950. Devoted and loving mother to Evelyn A. Short of Churu-busco, James (Shirley) Murphy of Columbia City, and the late Hobert Murphy, Jr. and Barbara Roberts; sister to Oakley Artrip of Clinchco, Va., and the late Vesta Porter, Mariah Watson, and Myrtle Mullins; and the cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco. Visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. today. Interment in South Park Cemetery, Columbia City.
