Anthony (Tony) W. Ranni

NORTH BERWICK, Maine - Anthony (Tony) W. Ranni, 72, of North Berwick, Maine and Everglades City, Fla., passed away Friday, December 20, 2013.

He was born in Bronx, N.Y., Aug. 3, 1941, the son of Constantine and Adeline (DeDominicis) Ranni.

Tony graduated from Marianapolis Preparatory School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Connecticut and Maine. He also taught in the Vocational School in Sanford, Maine.

Tony was a Boy Scout leader and past president of the North Berwick Garden Club. Tony belonged to the Hackamatack Summer Theater, where he was active in a few plays and thoroughly enjoyed the participation with the players.

Tony led an active life. He had a bright and positive outlook about living and the people around him. He believed that when you gave of yourself, anything was possible. Tony was generous in helping others.

Tony married a woman from Honduras, the love of his life and they had a wonderful life together. Tony helped many family members from Honduras. He made sure that they had food and clothing and a place to live. He was a giving person.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dilcia Maritza Ranni; a daughter Amy Roth, husband and 2 children; a son Micha Ranni, wife, and 4 children.

A memorial Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 3 at 11 a.m. at St Peter's Church, 30 Saint Peter Lane, Higganum, Conn. followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden, Conn.

Memorial contributions in Tony's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
