Bauyu Chang Obituary

DOVER — Bauyu Susan (Bocash) Chang, 58, of Dover, died Monday, June 27, 2011, at her home following a lengthy illness.

Ms. Chang was born in Taipei, Taiwan, Sept. 14, 1952, and was the daughter of Tienren and Lay (San) Chang.

Susan came to the United States in 1970 with her husband, Michael Bocash and settled in Littleton, N.H., where they owned and operated the Little Dragon Chinese Restaurant until the 1980s. She worked for many years at the Eastgate Restaurant & Inn and established her interior design business, Jade Rose Design Co., before moving to Dover 10 years ago. For the past six years, she has owned and operated the Silver Fountain Inn Bed & Breakfast on Silver Street in Dover.

Ms. Chang was well known for her hospitality, interior design, gardening, and culinary skills and was beloved by many friends, patrons and members of the community throughout New Hampshire and beyond.

Family members include two daughters, Victoria Bocash and her husband, Michael, of Pascoag, R.I., Jade Golden of Dover; two sons, William Bocash and his wife, Angela, of Berwick, Maine, and Michael Bocash and his wife, Sarah of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Nevyn Morrissey, Haley, Riley and Brady Dodge, Bryce and Elizabeth Bocash and Blaze Bocash; three sisters, Michelle Chang of Alhambra, Calif., Julie Laurencell of Las Vegas, Nev., and Tracy Wang of Charlotte, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, David Yu; her ex-husband and father of three children, Michael Bocash, and the father of her youngest daughter, Kimothy Golden.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 23 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Portsmouth Gas Light Co. (3rd Floor), 64 Market St., Portsmouth, N.H. Assistance with arrangements was by Remick & Gendron Funeral Home. For online condolences and directions, please visit www.RemickGendron.com.

She was a very nice woman who I met when I worked at the Eastgate 20+ years ago. My condolences to the whole family, including Mike and Vicky who also worked with at the Eastgate. She was a lovely woman.
