Jon,
I just learned of your Dads passing and am sorry for your loss. The first time I met your dad was unusual at best,Im sure you remember when your dad came on the ice at a Budmen game when you injured your colorbone. Not knowing who he was,I asked him to step back and give you some room to deal with the injury.I was totaly unaware it was your father and felt that I had made a huge error.Being the man that your dad was,he never held that against me and often made light of the case of mistaken identity.
Pattys and my Prayers are with you and yours at this difficult time.

Jon,
I was hoping my schedule would allow me to be there this morning with you, but unfortunately it doesn't. Our families relationship with your Dad was a special one at UNH and we are all saddened by your loss. Please extend our sympathy to your entire family. It's been way long since our Budmen days hasn't it. Let's get together over your way sometime soon. Jim Hayes

I always enjoyed talking with Charlie. His office in History was a couple of doors down from mine in Sociology. I learned a lot from him about the history of New England. He was always serene, cheerful, helpful -- a wonderful colleague. He is greatly missed. My deepest condolences to his family. Bud Khleif

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I was one of his students my senior year at UNH (1968) and well remember not only his lectures and classes, but also his interest in us as students.

"Dad" touched my life in so many ways. Seems like just yesterday that we were in England...although the Laura Ashley dresses don't fit anymore -- which is a clear sign of time gone by. I will always remember being the only business major in a history class, birthday celebrations, beloved Christmas parties at the Clarks, weddings, baby baptisms, and so so many other wonderful times. My heart is heavy, but full of love for you and yours as we find the strength to celebrate the blessed life of Charlie -- who touched everyone's lives he came in contact with. He will always hold a very special place in my heart.
All my love,
Kati

Doug and Family,
Sorry about the loss of your father. While I never had a class with him, some of my friends did and thoroughly enjoyed him as a teacher and person.

Dear Clark Family,
Professor Clark was "the professor" to take at least one history class with before graduating from the UNH History Department. His New Hampshire History class was excellent. He was kind, enthusiastic on his topics, entertaining with his humor, and very informative. It was also in one of his classes where I met my future wife. He enjoyed talking to us students and gave great insight into our papers. I just recently re-read 'The Eastern Frontier' when on a trip. Professor Clark had a profound impact on me as a high school history teacher and as someone who enjoys the subject of history. My best to your family during this time.
Sincerely,
Patrick Boodey

My heartfelt sympathies are with all of you, in the Clark family. May your cherished and loving memories of Charles help you through the sad times, and the warmth of his love and smile, lay close to your heart with much happiness. Although it has been many years since I have seen Charles, I do remember his wonderful smile and great conversations. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
