Thank you Ms. Taylor for all of your years of service to so many children and their families. Dover was a better place to raise a child because of kind, loving people like you.
May God bless and keep you wrapped in His loving hands.

Dorothy's mother was my grandfather O'Kane's sister; so Dorothy was a first cousin to my mother and her four siblings. A tray that Dorothy hand painted, and presented to my mother as a wedding gift, was always on display in my parent's home. She was god-mother to one of my sisters; and there were holiday visits over the years. Unfortunately, most of my siblings and I lost contact with Dorothy after my mother's passing in 1988.

Dorothy had an unusually engaging presence. The sparkle in her eyes and the smile on her face reflected her very essence. She was upbeat, interested and interesting, and she exuded warmth. For years, now, I have thought that I should stop by for a visit. I should have realized, before now, that life is never too busy for enrichment.

One final comment: when I notified my younger O'Kane cousins of Dorothy's passing, the response that I received -- one after another -- was that, while that cousin had never met her (having grown up a distance away), he/she had always heard wonderfully complimentary things about Dorothy from his/her O'Kane parent.

Well done, Dorothy.

Requiescat in pace.

I remember Ms. Taylor from my school years at
Woodman Park. She always seemed like such a nice lady. Ninety-Seven years is an incredibly long life. How fortunate she was to have been given such longevity!! Peace to you Ms. Taylor.
Sincerely,

Susan C.

I am so sorry to hear about Miss Taylor's death. I saw the photo of her online and recognized her smile right away. She was the secretary at Woodman Park School for all 6 years that I was there. She was always happy and focused, and I remember her always busy, but also gave time to talk to the kids. Everyone knew Miss Taylor, and everyone loved her. Rest in peace. You will be missed!
