Newmarket, NH - George Chagaris of The Villages, FL, formerly of Belmont, MA and Newmarket, NH, entered into eternal rest on December 3, 2020. George grew up in Belmont, MA and graduated with the BHS Class of 1973. He was a graduate of Northeastern University. He taught algebra at Diamond Jr. High School in Lexington, MA before moving to New Hampshire. George was very proud of his 30 year career with Liberty Mutual. He loved the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, Disney World and Christmas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lisa Herzberg Chagaris, and is survived by his son, John Chagaris and wife Rhiannon and Grandson J.J. of Davenport, FL and his daughter Mandy Colleen Chagaris of Seabrook, NH, his sister Stephanie DeVasto and her husband Robert of Burlington, MA, along with his three nieces Alaina King, Alyssa DeVasto and Alexa Rousseau, and 8 grand nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his best friend, Jim Beach and many relatives and friends.
George was the former President of the Greek Orthodox Youth of America youth group and the Newmarket, NH Athletic Association. He enjoyed coaching his children in baseball, basketball and softball. He was an avid softball player and enjoyed playing cribbage and checkers and walking through Walt Disney World. His favorite memories were the family trips to Disney World when the kids were young.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 19th from 10:00 - 11:45 a.m. at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home & Crematory, 77 Exeter Road (Route 108), Newmarket, followed by a 12 p.m. graveside service in Riverside Cemetery, 67 Elm Street, Newmarket.
