Kathleen E. Therrien

Dover, NH – Kathleen E. (McCooey) Therrien, 96, of Dover, NH, and Venice, FL, passed away on March 28, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Kathleen was born on February 9,1930 in Dover, NH to John J. McCooey and Elizabeth (McCarthy) McCooey. She was a graduate of St. Mary Academy Grade School, High School and Dover High School.

On October 1, 1953 she married James J. Therrien and were blessed with five daughters.

She is survived by four daughters: Mary K. Landry, Margaret F. Crosby (husband Bryan), Joanne M. Ferland (husband Joseph), and Patricia A. Therrien (wife Pat). She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, six great-granddaughters, several nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, James, parents, daughter Nancy A Bailie, four sisters and two brothers.

She worked for New England Telephone as an operator then supervisor. Later on in life she worked at St. Ann's Home as a Nurse's Aide.

Kathleen's family would like to thank her caregivers at Wentworth Homecare & Hospice, especially Sarah for their kindness and compassion.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 31st from 4 – 6 p.m. at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home & Crematory, 77 Exeter Road (Route 108), Newmarket, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 1st at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 25 Chestnut St., Dover, NH.

Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dover Point Road, Dover, NH.
