Noel Goulet

DOVER — Noel Roland Goulet, 89, passed away on Oct. 5, 2011, at Watson Fields.

He was born in Plessisville, PQ, Canada, to William and Lazarine (Michaud) Goulet. He and his parents moved to the United States and lived in South Berwick, Maine.

Noel was an army veteran of World War II and served in the 133rd combat battalion and was awarded a Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal. In 1946, he married Rachel Roy, who predeceased him in 2006. Together they moved to Dover, where they made their home and raised their family.

Noel was retired from the Boston & Maine Railroad and the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was a kind and generous man and a loving family man. He enjoyed gardening, and was known for his bountiful crops. He also enjoyed woodworking and gifted many of his creations to his family, friends, and neighbors. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his four children: Ronald Goulet and wife, Nancy, of Goffstown, Michel Goulet and wife, Susan, of North Berwick, Maine, Diane Brochu and husband, Brian, of Rochester, Suzanne French and husband, Richard, of Rochester; five grandchildren, Michael Goulet, Danielle Bustamante, Katie Goulet, Amy Emery and Laurie Goulet; four great-grandchildren, Alex and Maddy Goulet, and Noah and Jacob Bustamante; a sister, Rita Boulanger of Rochester, a special couple, Irene and Bob McCann of Somersworth; several nieces and nephews; and friends.

He was predeceased by his brother, Gerald Goulet of South Berwick, Maine.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Watson Fields for their loving and exceptional care for "Rollie" and his family.

At Noel's request there will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 10, at Our Lady of Peace Church in Berwick, Maine.
