Quest Jaeger Obituary

Quest Brooks Jaeger

DURHAM - Quest Brooks Jaeger, 17, died December 30, 2012. Born November 14, 1995 in Winchester, Mass., he was the son of Eric Jaeger and Stacey Brooks. He was raised in Madbury, New Hampshire and was a junior at Oyster River High School, Durham.

His grandparents were Wayne and Brenda Brooks (Wayne died in 2004) and Ole and Sandra Jaeger. He was the proud and oft tortured older brother of Zephyr Brooks Jaeger, Zenith Brooks Jaeger, and Phoenix Ezra Brooks Jaeger.

Quest had a positive impact on so many lives and lived the phrase "practice random acts of kindness." His friends and family ask that you honor him by paying it forward. He will always be remembered for his love of hiking and the outdoors, his writing, creativity and imagination, and especially his humanity. As so many have said, "he was the best of us."

A Celebration of Quest will be held today, Thursday, at 6:30 p.m. at Moharimet Elementary School in Madbury. Donations in his memory may be made to the Appalachian Mountain Club.

This boy. He was truly an incredible boy who was my best friend and my mom's friend's son. He was a beloved young man and when he died. I was in shock. I couldn't bring myself to cry no matter how much I wanted to bawl my eyes out. He will be missed and he was always loved by many. Quest Brooks Jaeger, rest in peace, my best friend.

I didn't know Quest, but after reading his obit I feel like I missed out on meeting a very special young man. My condolences to family and friends.

Our deepest condolences to your family for the passing of Quest. I remember Quest as a little guy in middle school, but did not get the pleasure to know him personally. My son, Chris (Quest's classmate), says that "he was one of the nicest kids in the class." Our hearts go out to you during this difficult time. Sincerely, The Gallant Family

Stacey, Eric, Zephyr, Zenith and Phoenix- I am so very sorry for this terrible loss. Quest was a remarkable young man who was well loved by so many. We all have so many wonderful memories of Quest to hold close to our heart. My cherished memories are of a young Quest playing outside with his siblings, riding his bike, playing Legos and building sand castles at the beach. I have always treasured my memories and time spent with all of the Jaeger children as their summer nanny (and teacher at My School), but now these memories will be all the more precious. God Bless you all. Take comfort that Quest is in peace. I believe he is a guardian angel watching over his family & friends.
