Wallace Tarbox

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine — Wallace B. "Wally" Tarbox, 66, of Arundel Road, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, May 26, 2012.

He was born July 18, 1945 to Roscoe and Mary (Davis) Tarbox, Jr., and raised in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Wally graduated from Kennebunk High in 1963 and worked for Jim's Service Center as a mechanic.

Wally served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1971 with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was employed at Pratt Whitney in North Berwick, Maine for 28 years, retiring in 2008.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the North Berwick Rod and Gun Club.

Wally was a very private, kind man who enjoyed his extended family, was a great gun enthusiast, loved taking train trips, gardening and the Red Sox.

Surviving him are his beloved wife of 28 years, Teresa (Terri); son, Kevin and daughter, Carrie; grandson, Connor; brother, Roscoe Tarbox and wife Connie of Lyman; sisters, Grace Colby and husband Bill of Maryland, and Patricia Campbell of Virginia; father- and mother-in-law, Don and Judy Watterson; brother-in-law Jim Watterson and wife Lil; sisters-in-law Brenda Belanger and husband Jeff, Dawn Rice and husband Stan, all of North Berwick, Maine; along with several nieces and nephews.

Wally's family would like to thank Kennebunkport Police officers Chris Simeoni and Marc Laflamme for all their support, and also the Kennebunkport Rescue squad.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer Street, Kennebunk, Maine where a funeral service with military honors will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m.

Private interment in Arundel Cemetery, Kennebunkport.
