Frances Arndt Obituary

HARTWELL – Frances Lou Dean Arndt, 89, of Hartwell, died Nov. 29, 2022, at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late James Floyd Dean and Al-lie Crowe Dean. She was a graduate of the Universi-ty of Georgia and a home-maker. She lived most of her life in Danielsville, where she and her late husband of 60 years, John Lewis Arndt, raised their three daughters. In recent years, they lived full time at their home on Lake Hartwell. She was a life-long member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Diane Arndt Johnson and her husband Linton of Elberton, Debo-rah Arndt Rogers and her husband Bill of Hartwell and Donna Arndt Powell and her husband Jon of LaGrange; six grandchil-dren, Lint Johnson of Rome, Allison Frances "Alli" Johnson of Los An-geles, Calif., Deana Rogers of Atlanta, Anna Rogers Nourse and her husband Andy of Greer, S.C., and Wes Powell and Sarah Powell, both of La-Grange; and five great-grandchildren, Emory Lee Johnson, Kennedy Dean Johnson, Andrew John "A.J." Nourse, Austin Tillman Nourse and Jon Brooks Powell. She was the last surviv-ing member of her imme-diate family.
The funeral was held Saturday in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, with the Rev. Kyung Kim officiating. A private burial was in Hart Memorial Park Cemetery in Hartwell.
Sons-in-law and grand-sons served as pallbear-ers.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 484 Hawthorne Ave., Athens, GA 30606 or 262 North McIntosh St., Elberton, GA 30635.
Pruitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrange-ments.
