She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, deeply appreciative of her family's love and proud of their accomplishments. Surrounded by family during her time in the nursing home and hospital, she found great comfort in their presence. The family extends heartfelt thanks to her nieces and nephews for their visits, and a special thank you to Carol Demers for her devoted care and companionship. Janice was strong, independent, and full of life. She cherished childhood train rides to Boston with her father (and one time even got Roy Rogers autograph!)
She had a lifelong love of Beagles, especially her beloved dog, Princess. A big history enthusiast, she enjoyed reading about the American West and Native American culture. She was an avid collector of anything elephants. She was a fan of classic films and television - Gone with the Wind, Gunsmoke and Shirley Temple were among her favorites. She loved traveling, often taking bus trips with family and friends, especially to New York City, and the casinos. She was thrilled to have met Johnny Cash and loved talking about shaking his hand! She remained actively engaged with the world, watching the nightly news and listening to WHAI radio each morning, where she was known to call in and share her thoughts. She especially enjoyed chatting with "Nick in the Morning". She leaves behind countless cherished memories with each member of her family, creating special moments and unique "inside jokes" that will be lovingly remembered by all. Her sharp mind, love for learning, and strong love for her family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Funeral services for Janice will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations in her memory may be made to the
