Maureen Heon Obituary

HATFIELD-Maureen Frances Shea Heon passed in the evening on March 7th after 88 years of life in her home in Hatfield surrounded by her family. Maureen grew up in Northampton and was a long-time resident of Hatfield. She attended St. Michael's High School in Northampton, an Archangel at heart. She left her mark on the St. Michael's basketball team and cheerleading squad. She graduated from Saint Michael's High in 1955. On July 27th, 1957, she married her high school sweetheart Ed. Early in her life, she worked as an outstanding legal secretary in a top law office in Northampton. Once she had children, her focus was homemaking and supporting her nuclear and extended family in any way they needed. She also assisted her husband in his business endeavors with her excellent writing. After a reluctant start, she became an avid and skilled golfer alongside her husband. Her bowling skills were only matched by her ability to put together a stylish outfit. Maureen leaves her beloved husband Edward, her children Christopher (Cindi) of Shelburne Falls, Daniel (Alison) of Casco, Maine, and Pamela (Jeffrey) of Hatfield, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Jacqueline Shelnut of Woodbury, CT, and her brothers, Robert Shea of Wells, VT and Dennis Shea of Easthampton, MA. Services are pending and will be announced with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Leeds.
