Allan Burke

1941 - 2025

Allan Luther Burke, age 83 of Union Bridge, died Friday, September 12, 2025 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Born December 28, 1941 in Damascus, MD he was the son of the late Leonard Luther Burke and Hazel Mullinix Burke. He was the loving husband of Nancy Burke, his wife of 66 years.

He graduated from Damascus High School and held various jobs before beginning his career with the federal government, where he eventually rose to the position of computer analyst; retiring from FEMA. He was a member of Exmore Baptist Church in VA and enjoyed running, finishing the Marine Corp Marathon being a great achievement, riding his bike every morning, going out on his boat to fish, had a great love for his dogs, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children Dwayne Burke and wife Dana and Stephanie Ramsburg and partner Doug Clipp, grandchildren William, Natalie and Daniel Burke, Sarah Welker, James Ramsburg and Heather Peacock; great-grandchildren Emmalyn, Roselie, Harvey, Gideon, Piper, Connor, Ella, Madison, Jackson, Yardley, Burke, Hazel and Aithen. Also surviving are siblings Brenda Phifer and Linda Sue Wyche and husband Alan, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, September 17th, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Frederick.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, September 18th at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, Kemptown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Allan Burke to Exmore Baptist Church, 11624 Occohannock Neck Rd., Exmore, VA 23350.
