Hoyt Skipper Obituary

Mr. Hoyt Skipper, 78, of Conway, S.C., died Sunday, March 31, at Conway Hospital following an illness.

He was the husband of Donnie Mae Skipper.

Born in Horry County, S.C., he was a son of the late Thurmond H. and Annie Jane Todd Skipper.

Mr. Skipper was a retired truck driver after 35 years and was associated with APC and G.J. Creel Oil Co.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Johnny D. Boyd and wife Julie of Conway; two daughters, Ann Vortmans and husband Frank of Charlotte, N.C., and Judy B. Ammons and husband Michael of Conway; one brother, Marvin Skipper of Aynor, S.C.; four sisters, Thelma Brown of Charleston, S.C., Susie Edwards of Frederick, and Isla Cooper and Ludie Hooks, both of Lumberton, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Jonathan Ammons, Kimberly Ammons, and Martin Boyd and wife Ashlee.

Mr. Skipper was preceded in death by one brother, John Skipper.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3. The Rev. Billy Hackett will officiate.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Conway.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kingston Baptist Church, 3260 Highway 19, Conway, S.C. 29526.
