Alvin Poole Obituary
He was the husband of the late Mary Katherine Poole.
Born March 15, 1914, in Mount Airy, he was a son of the late Abram G. and Annie R. Main Poole.
He was a retired custodian at A.E.C.
He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of Gold Star Post 191 American Legion, Mount Airy.
He was a member of Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, Monrovia.
He is survived by three children, Theresa Bly of Mount Airy, Kathy Poole of Walkersville, and Ross Poole of Mount Airy; one stepson, Eugene Smith of Mount Airy; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Preston Poole of Mount Airy; and one sister, Mary Esther Rippeon of Frederick.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert and Herman Poole.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren. The Rev. John Green will officiate.
Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery next to the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821 Green Valley Road, Monrovia, Md. 21770.
