Anna Wentz Obituary

Mrs. Anna Hess Wentz, 93, formerly of Westminster, died Monday, Aug. 10, at Westminster Nursing and Rehabilitative Center, after an illness of nine years.

Twice married, she was the wife of Lloyd R. Hess, who died in 1970, and Sterling A. Wentz, who died in 1989.

Born Dec. 18, 1904, in Tyrone, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Clara Frounfelter Heltibridle.

She was a member of Baust Reformed Church, Tyrone.

Surviving are three sons, Richard L. Hess and wife Beatrice of Silver Run, Donald B. Hess and wife Shirley of Hanover, Pa., and Leo R. Hess of Taneytown; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Hess Zepp of Middleburg; six stepchildren, Edgar Wentz of Union Bridge, Wayne Wentz and Linda Robertson, both of New Windsor, Patsy Sleeger of Sykesville, Shirley Danner of Linwood, and Donna Cook of Westminster; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, John E. Hess, in 1994.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Union Bridge, with the Rev. James L. Benedict, pastor of Union Bridge Church of the Brethren, officiating.

Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Union Bridge.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12.
