Arthur Roeper Jr.

Mr. Arthur H. Roeper Jr., 59, of Woodbine, died on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster. He was the husband of Linda H. Link Roeper, his wife of 41 years.

Born on June 13, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of Arthur H. Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Corcoran of Cincinnati. He was owner and president of Ditch Witch of Maryland located in West Friendship. A true entrepreneur, Art started the company 32 years ago from nothing and was a current member of the Dealer Advisory Council of Ditch Witch of America. Mr. Roeper was a member of AMA and the Christian Motorcycle Association. He loved riding motorcycles and mountain bikes, enjoyed sailing and reading the Bible; but most of all cherished spending time with his grandchildren and giving words of encouragement anyone in need.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are children, Laura Lynn Horn and husband Matthew Davies Horn of Mount Airy and Arthur Eric Roeper and wife Amy Lynn of Middletown; four grandchildren, Cody Matthew Horn, Kyle Davies Horn, Kayla Grace Horn and Elijah Joseph Roeper; two sisters, Linda Liming and husband Herschel and Cathy Lou Vaughn and husband Doug, all of Cincinnati.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, October 9, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. in Mount Airy where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, with Rev. Leon Dotson of Hebron Christian Church officiating.

Interment will be private.
