Barbara Burke Obituary
She was a graduate of Frederick High School and later served in the U.S. Navy, as a secretary during WW II. After her military service, Barbara worked as a secretary at Hood College. She married her late husband Norman Burke in 1948. She also worked for the American Red Cross from 1961 - 1990.
Barbara was a lifelong member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick, MD and was an active member of the Wesleyan Guild for many years.
Barbara is survived by her daughters Patricia Dillon, Holly Burke and Cindy Burke, granddaughters Laura Stouter, Trisha Wallace, Caitlyn Swartz and Hannah Yesk, great grandchildren Caroline Wallace and Weston Wallace and numerous cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her sisters Hilda Haller and Dorothy Haller and brother Grayson Haller.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street. Online condolences may be left at www.keeneybasford.com Barbara Burke

May your memories give you comfort at this difficult time. I remember your mother as I lived on South Street and was Patricia’s classmate at Washington Street School and Frederick High School. It wasn’t until I read her obituary that i learned she was the sister of Grayson Hallam who was a friend of my family. How wonderful that she lived to be 103. May your faith sustain you at this time of loss.
