Bernice Levine Obituary

Bernice "Boshie" Levine, daughter of Eli and Lena Shaw, passed away at Suburban Hospital on Sept. 29, 2007, after a lengthy illness.

Originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., Boshie and Sidney were married on Dec. 21, 1947, and soon relocated to the Washington metropolitan area. Boshie and Sidney enjoyed a devoted and lifelong love affair for more than 60 years. Boshie and Sid have two sons, Steven Levine (1952) of Baton Rouge, La., and Eric Levine (1960) of Frederick. Boshie also enjoyed a loving relationship with her niece, Ellen Seagraves, with whom she was very close.

Boshie volunteered with Hadassah, and later was involved in a literacy program through Second Genesis Addiction Services.

Boshie is survived by husband, Sidney Levine of Potomac; sons Steven and Eric; five grandchildren, Sarah Levine, Melissa Levine, Benjamin Levine, Erika Levine and Alex Levine. She is also survived by one sister, Gloria Hecht, and her husband Leonard of New York City, and Fred and Aleida Baum from Marco Island, Fla. She was preceded in death by sister Florence Baum.
