Blaine Hoffmann Obituary

Blaine Hoffmann, age 58, passed away on August 19 at Frederick Health Hospital of Covid and Cardiac Arrest. He is survived by his parents Kenneth and Anne Hoffmann and brother Craig Hoffmann. He was preceded in death by his brother Kevin Hoffmann.

Mr. Hoffmann had Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Unversity of Maryland Baltimore County and was first employed by Johns Hopkins Hospital and the National Institute of Health. He then got a law degree from the University of Baltimore.

He worked for about ten years at the House of Ruth in Baltimore as a staff attorney representing abused women and custody cases for children among other duties.

He came to Heartly House in 2006 where he was widely known for his service to abused women. Mr. Hoffman was especially touched by children in need. In 2016, he received the Senator Benjamin Cardin award to a public service lawyer whose career was dedicated to providing legal services to low-income persons in need.

A service of celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, October 5 at 11 a.m. at Evangelical Reform United Church of Christ, 15 W. Church St., Frederick. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartly House, P.O. Box 857 Frederick, MD 21705 or to the churches compassion fund.

I will miss Blaine tremendously. Working with he and his staff has always been insightful. Blaine may you rest in peace and I will surely miss our conversations.
