Blake Hunt Obituary

Blake Chandler Hunt, 20, of Boyds, Maryland died in an automobile accident on Thursday September 16, 2021. Born on November 17, 2000, in Rockville, Maryland, Blake was welcomed by proud parents, Jeffrey and Sandra (Cochran), and older brother, Dylan.

Blake was a passionate and energetic kid, attending Clarksburg Elementary, Rocky Hill Middle and Clarksburg High. He loved traveling all over to play soccer and would compete with his cousins to see who could be first to swim the length of his grandparents' pool underwater. He grew up surrounded by family, enjoying summer vacations with his dad's side and birthday and holiday celebrations each month with his mom's. By high school, Blake grew to love lacrosse and spent hours in the backyard and the basement honing his skills.

Fiercely loyal, Blake shared early morning rides to school and late-night adventures with his best friends. He considered a summer spent in Ocean City as a life event for his highlight reel. A servant to those he loved, Blake would inquire of friends and family how he might be able to help them.

An avid pet lover and reptilian "Papa," Blake shared a special bond with his dog Brodie, cats Abby and Leo, turtle Clyde, lizard Penelope, and many fish.

In addition to his parents and brother, he is survived by his sister-in-law Carly, grandparents Cornelia Hunt and Joseph and Sylvia Cochran; beloved uncles and aunts Stacy Hunt and Beth Jenkins, Chris and Maggie Hunt, Robert and Laura Lafaver, Scott and Karen Wight; cousins Jennifer Bird, Devin, Taylor, Sarah and CJ Hunt, Brennan Wight, and Brittany Lafaver; extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Stacy R. Hunt, Jr.

An awe-inspiring Celebration of Life with family and friends was held on Thursday, September 23rd, recording available upon request.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, https://my.fca.org/mocomd.

Yesterday I saw a praying mantis. Christians say that the praying mantis represents spiritualism or piety, that means that angels are watching over you. Please continue to watch over all of us Rama.

Your laugh will forever be cemented in my mind. You´re laugh is contagious.

One thing you told me last summer was "let no one judge you, you do you, you cool" and I have been. Thank you Rama for making family vacations and holidays special.

- Love your older cousin, Sarah

We were so saddened when we heard the news. Our son, Shane, played lacrosse with Blake in high school. I remember Blake was a really good lacrosse player. Our hearts and prayers go out to your family during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
