Bryon Mitchell

1958 - 2025

Bryon Eric Mitchell passed away on Monday 27 October after a prolonged battle with Parkinson's Disease. On the day before his death, he was surrounded by his family, he was able to play the piano, and he enjoyed the beautiful fall weather.

Bryon was born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania on Thursday 16 October 1958 to Connie and Eugene Mitchell. He had three siblings: Michelle (Al), Gene, and Garth. He also loved his Aunt Joyce (Jerry). He spent his formative years in Montgomery County, Maryland. Growing up he was an avid runner and fan of 1960/1970s music.

He received a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Maryland Global Campus and was a lifelong enthusiast for plants. He worked as a fire safety engineer for the majority of his career, both for National Fire Protection and Frederick County. He was honored by the Secretary of Defense for his work to rebuild the Pentagon after the terrorist attacks in 2001.

Bryon was a loving and supportive husband and father to Darlene and Connie (Arturo) respectively. He also was a great step-father, grand-father, and great grandfather to Kelly (Chuck), Julie (Jerry), Micah (Laura), Lucas (Tracey), Hayley, Heidi (Justin), Jade, Cheyenne, Hannah, Dallas, Lucas, Garrett, Garrison, Cal, Abby, Jasmine, Ella, Cory, Alex, Christian, Bella, Aurie, Rheya, Evee, Dylan, and Charlie. He loved animals, including his dogs (Lanie, Clancy, Caesar, Dawg, Stella, and Angel) and cats (especially Billy, Willy, Whisky, and Lucie). He co-owned Darlene's Christmas Trees with his family. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, learning about American history, yard sales, watching sports, a good steak meal, science, the Moody Blues, the Beatles, and being with family.

There will be a celebration of his life at his home on Sunday November 16 at 2 pm.
