C. Rhea Obituary

Mr. C. Edward "Tony" Rhea, 71, of Hedgesville, W.Va., formerly of Frederick, died on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown. He was the husband of Patricia A. Rhea.

Born on Feb. 28, 1939, in Dunmore, W.Va., he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson and Virginia Little Rhea.

He worked for over 42 years in the banking industry and was a former vice president at Fredericktown Bank. He was a member of the Kiwanis of Frederick and the Marlowe Ruritan in West Virginia.

Surviving are three daughters, Pam Rhea of Frederick, Vonnie Rhea of College Station, Texas, and January Garrett of Charles Town, W.Va., one granddaughter, Kimberly Millone of College Station, Texas; one great-grandson, Karsen Ramsey of College Station, Texas; two sisters, Millie McCarter of Woodstock, Va., and Beverly Smith of Walkersville. He also had numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Rhea and his twin brother, Jack Rhea.

Visitation will be held from noon until the funeral services begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Bishop Jerry Price will officiate. Interment will follow in Burkittsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
