Catherine Wiles Obituary
She was the wife of James Vernon Wiles, who died July 7, 1987.
Born July 30, 1921, in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mamie Ramsburg Welty.
She was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church, Thurmont.
She will be remembered for selling her Easter flowers, black walnuts and Christmas wreaths in downtown Frederick.
She is survived by six children, Evelyn M. Green and husband Franklin of Thurmont, Beverly Ann Wetzel of Fairfield, Pa., Vernon C. Wiles and wife Barbara of Frederick, Mary Jane Biehl and husband John of Frederick, Betty Morgan and husband Douglas of Frederick, and Donald E. Wiles and wife Diane of Thurmont; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Welty and Grover Welty.
The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Wiles' pastors, the Revs. David and Hope Reynolds, will officiate.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
