Chad Smith Obituary

Chad Smith, born on November 30, 1974, in Frederick, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024, at Holy Cross Germantown Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the beloved son of Lawrence and Jo Ann Smith. Chad was known for his humor, kindness, and loving nature.

Chad was a devoted husband to Margaret Hunter Smith, with whom he recently celebrated 19 years of marriage, and loving father to Ethan Smith, who was his pride and joy. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. Throughout his life, Chad touched the hearts of many with his warm personality and genuine care for others.

A graduate of Middletown High School and Strayer University, Chad had a passion for sports (specifically NASCAR, Yankees baseball, and Capitals hockey) and travel. He enjoyed many happy memories with friends and family, including a cross-country tour of baseball stadiums with his son and a recent trip to New England. He also excelled in his career as a Senior Client Service Associate at Morgan Stanley.

A celebration of Chad's life will be held on March 22, 2024, at Resthaven Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., located at 9501 B Catoctin Mtn Hwy, Frederick, MD 21701. The family will welcome friends and loved ones starting at 6:15 pm, followed by the service at 6:30 pm.

Chad will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity dear to him. Chad Smith

To Margaret, Ethan and family are my deepest condolences. Chad's professionalism at work was exceeded only the care, consideration, and kindness he had for friends and family. He will be missed but also fondly remembered. Jim

I only knew him by business phone but he was the most patient, kind, polite and also spoke with me doing business during treatment, truly mourning for his family and friends, Jenifer Lynch, so sorry for your loss

Margaret and Ethan
Chad was not only a coworker, but a friend, a confidant and so much more. I told his mother that Chad was her son, but I felt in some ways he was mine, too.
He will be missed, but he will live in our hearts.
His smile and positive persona is what I will remember most.
