Clifford Gibbs Obituary

Mr. Clifford Ward Gibbs, 75, of Willowdale Drive, Frederick, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Glenda N. Gibbs.

Born May 17, 1925, in Dayton, Ohio, he was a son of the late Forest and Mary Neidick Gibbs.

Mr. Gibbs was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1943 to 1946.

He was employed as a plumber for R.W. Warner of Frederick for 13 years.

He was a past member of the Frederick AMVETS, and Edwin C. Creeger, American Legion Post 168, Thurmont. He also enjoyed playing cards.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Penny Brewer of Frederick; one stepson, Gene Tomlin and wife Elizabeth of Adamstown; five grandchildren, David Kemp Jr. and wife Lyn, Heather Kemp, and Jessica, Lindsay and Garrick Tomlin; two great-grandchildren, Kameren Kemp and Kaithlyn Kemp; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gibbs was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Bradley and Cora Mae Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Friends may also call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 2, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Herschel Gibbs officiating.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1730 N. Market St., Frederick, Md. 21701 and/or the American Heart Association, 839 Quince Orchard Boulevard, Suite E, Gaithersburg, Md. 20878.
