Clyde Lee Asbury, Sr.

1930 - 2015

Clyde Lee Asbury Sr., 85, of Jefferson, MD passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of 46 years to Betty J. (Rodgers) Asbury whom he married August 18, 1967.

Born on October 4, 1930 in Tazewell, VA, he was the son of the late Juanita (Puckett) Asbury and grandson of the late John Samuel Puckett. Clyde attended Tazewell School. Clyde retired from Richard B. Rudy of Frederick in 1992 after 27 years of service. He was also employed by H & L Mils, and Deer Spring Farms.

In addition to his wife, Clyde is survived by his daughter Christine Roberts and husband Dennis of Frederick, MD; son Clyde Asbury Jr and wife Tracy of Wolfsville, MD; son Benny Asbury and wife Lynda of Wolfsville, MD; son Joe Asbury and wife Rhonda of Hagerstown, MD; son Keith Asbury of Jefferson, MD; grandchildren, Forrest Potter, Jessie Asbury, Travis Asbury, Blake Asbury, Beau Asbury, Everett Asbury; brothers Hershel Asbury and wife Bert of VA, Joe Asbury and wife Barbara of VA, Sherman Asbury of KY and sister Eula Locker Asbury of OH.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD. Inurnment will be private.

The family would like to extend their thanks to hospice nurses Cathy and Gail for their care and compassion to Clyde and his family.
