Craig Fritz

Mr. Craig Jeremy Fritz, 18, of Burnt Hickory Circle, Urbana, died suddenly Sunday, June 18, while on vacation with his family at Yosemite National Park, California.

Born May 25, 1982, in Silver Spring, he was a son of Glen C. and Anne J. Fritz of Urbana.

Mr. Fritz graduated from Urbana High School, Class of 2000, where he had been a member of the soccer team and the band.

He worked at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick for Excel Food Services. He enjoyed all sports, playing drums, fantasy baseball, wresting and paintball.

Mr. Fritz was to have attended Salisbury State University in the fall, where he intended to pursue a career in sports management.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Keith D. Fritz, at home; paternal grandparents, Russel and Grace Fritz of Silver Spring; maternal grandparents, Manuel and Marlene Berman of Silver Spring; his aunts and uncles, Paul and Cecily Fritz of Palmer, Alaska, Leslie and Paul Gauthier of Ohio, Harry and Darla Berman of Olney, Roger and JoAnne Fritz of Middletown, Laura and Ron Fedoryk of Gaithersburg, and Jill and Brad Marwine of New Market; 11 cousins, Jason, Ryan, Travis and Jackie Fritz, Bill and Jack Berman, Brandon Gauthier, Casey, Cody and Ty Marwine, and Christopher Pollard; and one nephew, Nicholas.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. The Rev. Diana Ley of Marvin Memorial United Methodist Church, Silver Spring, will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Urbana Fire Hall, 3602 Urbana Pike, Urbana, immediately following the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Children's Hospital Foundation, 111 Michigan Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20010.
