David Little Obituary

David Eugene Little, 71, of Emmitsburg, MD, died October 25, 2025 at John Hopkins Hospital. Born September 12, 1954, in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Roy and Marie (Anders) Little. Dave was the owner of David E. Little custom painting for 30 years. He was a United States Navy Veteran, a member of the American Legion, and Elias Lutheran Church.

Dave met Charlene, the love of his life in 1978. The two were married on July 7, 1984. They had two children, Deana and David, who were the apple of his eye.

Dave's favorite role was that of a grandparent, treasuring his time with his grandkids, Harrison, Coleson, and Lilly, and loved being their Pappy.

Everyone who knew Dave, knew how much he loved music, especially The Beatles. He also loved the beach, Pittsburgh Steelers, and driving his Corvette. He will always be remembered for his wittiness and the way he loved to make people smile.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Charlene, are daughter, Deana Mortorff (George), Son David Little (Rebecca), grandsons, Harrison and Coleson Mortorff; granddaughter, Lilly Little; chosen child Stephanie Zagade, siblings, Richard Little, Carolyn Smith (Karl), Beth Little-Terry (Leonard), and Elaine Ebaugh (Denny), brother inlaws Dave Smith, Monroe Hewitt, Sister in laws Sandy Anders, Shirley Little and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave is remembered by cousin, Phil Little, and friend, John Walter. Dave was predeceased by siblings, Leon Anders, Gerry Hewitt, Mary Jean Orndorff, Larry Little, Joyce Grimm, Joan Smith, and infant sister, Christina Little.

A funeral will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, 11:00 am, at Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 W North Ave., Emmitsburg, MD 21727, with Pastor Joe Herb officiating. Burial will follow at Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery in Emmitsburg. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 29, 2025, 2:00-4:00 pm, and 6:00-8:00 pm, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A., 210 W Main St., Emmitsburg, and again, Thursday, October 30, at the church, from 10:00 am until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave's name may be made to Mother Seton School, 100 Creamery Rd., Emmitsburg. David Little
