Derek Angel Obituary
Mr. Derek Matthew Angel, 21, of Middletown, Md., died suddenly on Saturday, July 31, 2004.
Born October 11, 1982, in Johnson City, Tenn., he was the son of Jonathan M. Angel of Middletown, Md., and Nina Shandor Angel, deceased.
Derek grew up in the Germantown area in Montgomery County.
He graduated June of 2001 from Walkersville High School and was attending Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania, where he was a senior majoring in communication.
This summer, he interned at the Community Foundation of Frederick County, Md.
Derek especially enjoyed the funny twist of a phrase, competition, school, sports, and hanging out with his many friends.
Surviving in addition to his father, are his stepmother, Lindy Henson Angel, of Middletown, Md.; two grandfathers, Paul H. Angel of Olney, Md., and Michael Shandor, of Ashton, Md.; three aunts, Kathryn A. Whitcomb and husband, John M. of Holyoke, Mass., Rosemary A. Wolfe and husband, Charles "Rick" of Frederick, Md., and Andrea Shandor Lutov and husband, Paul of Washington DC; three uncles, Greg Shandor, of Florida, George S. Angel and wife, Barbara of Laytonsville, Md., and Paul H. Angel, III and wife, Linda of Prince Frederick, Md.; and six cousins, Benjamin L. Whitcomb, Samuel P. Whitcomb, Daniel J. Whitcomb, Paula Ann Angel, Alex G. Angel, and Cory R. Angel, who will all miss him a great deal.
Derek's family will receive friends on Friday, August 6, 2004 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church St., Frederick, Md.
Services will be in the Etchison Chapel at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, Saturday, August 7, 2004, at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Derek Matthew Angel Scholarship Fund at the Community Foundation of Frederick County, Md., 312 East Church St., Frederick, Md., 21701.
Mr. Bradley Kochaniec
Mr. Bradley Alan Kochaniec, 19, of Quirauk School Road, Sabillasville, Md., died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, Md.
Born January 25, 1985, in Tallahassee, Fla., he was a son of George Kochaniec of Denver, Colo., and Carol McIntosh and stepfather David McIntosh of Sabillasville, Md.
Bradley was a student at Mount St. Mary's University, Emmitsburg, Md. He was a member of the American Canoe and Kayak Association.
Surviving is a brother, Steven Kochaniec, Bolder, Colo.; stepbrothers and sisters, Kristopher McIntosh, Missy Gavagni, Chrissy McIntosh, Joey McIntosh and Michael McIntosh; and paternal grandparents, George and Elaine Kochaniec, Tallahassee, Fla.
He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Roy and Mabelle Rice.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10 from the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception at Mount St. Mary's University, Emmitsburg, Md., with the Rev. Ray Harris as the celebrant.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9 at the Skiles Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, Md., where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m.
Interment will be in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Emmitsburg, Md.
