My wife and I are so shocked to hear about Doug. The world has lost a true, geniune good man. I worked with Doug's Dad for many years when Doug was a teenager. Bob had many funny stories talking about Doug and his growing up years.

I had the pleasure to see Doug grow and mature while in business. You will never find a nicer young man with high standards for ethics and fairness. I called it the "Angell Way". I used to tell Doug the only fault he has was being a Redskin fan!

Doug always had stories about his children that would make you laugh and he was so proud of his wife and how she was the glue in the family.

We pray for all the family and that the happy memories of Doug will lessen the grief and loss.

Love,

My deepest sympathy. He was always a sweet kid and grew into a very nice man. I 'ran' into Doug a few times in past years at Imagination Center, and remembered him from our childhood at Lewistown Elementary and Brown's Lane.

I was just thinking of Doug & his father, Robert, this past weekend. I always enjoyed delivering mail to the shop on East Patrick Street, and at later locations, for printing needs. Doug was a wonderful guy, and will be missed in Frederick. My prayers are with the family.

Uncle Doug had a great impact in my life. He also looked out for me as if I was his own daughter. When I played on Uncle Doug's soccer team he didn't go easy on me, instead he went harder on me. This helped me get better at soccer. He was so loving toward me and my sisters and brothers. He was definitely the most amazing Uncle Doug anyone could have. He will truly be missed! I love you Uncle Doug!!!

Dad, i'll always love you no matter what. You were without question the greatest man i've ever met. I'm honored to call you my dad. You use to always yell at me whenever I did anything wrong, but I always learned from my mistakes because of you. Before I do anything now, I always ask myself what you would tell me. Thank you for all the amazing things you've taught me. I'll always love you, and thank you for teaching me so well.

Doug was my daughter's soccer coach when she started clinic with CCRC. I will never forget the impact he had on her. She was one of the smallest members of the team, but he had a way of reaching her and turned her into a fierce little goalie with two words, "my cookie!" Doug was very giving of his time, great with kids of all ages and one of those individuals that could bring a smile to your face and just made life more pleasant. He will truly be missed.

Coach Doug was a amazing person. I loved going to soccer games just to hear him tell me I can do better. I can only imagine how good of a father and friend he was if he was so open and loving as a coach. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers go out t his whole family and all the other players he touched.

For all the things Doug did for my family, to how he handled my family's kids to seeing how he raised his own children, he was a total class act and will be truly missed. I can't begin to think what Wendy and the Angell children are going through right now. My deepest condolences to all. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

My best friend and Life Coach. Doug had a handle on life like nobody I have ever known. He has touched my life in the most profound way imaginable. Additionally he was looked up to and dearly loved by my kids. Caroline says she will always remember "hot dog" (her nickname for Doug), and dancing on the ceiling (Doug would hold her upside down and sing that song)! A guy with the strongest sence character, ethics and was always uncompromising on his values. He told me his Heros were John Wayne and Ronald Reagan. He thought about the kind of person he wanted to be most like and strove daily to move towards that goal. You set the bar high Doug. Now YOU are my hero. I have a lot of company in that club. I love you brother.

There is no way to express the loss that we feel. Doug was an amazing man. He really cared about people...the people he served in his business and his friends. He loved his family and always talked about them. He was so proud of his children and loved his wife so much. We will miss him so much. He was the kind of man who really made an impression in this world to all of the people he met. This is a great loss. God bless his family and dear friends. God bless Doug.

There is a photo in one of my high school yearbooks of Doug and I in class. Another student wrote "Is this a fight?". Far from it. Doug and I were good friends in high school and, although we fell out of touch when I moved out of the area, I have fond memories of him. Doug was a man of kindness and integrity who always had a good word for everyone. He brightened the lives of many and will be missed.
