Elizabeth I. Fogle

1921 - 2016

Elizabeth Irene Fogle, age 95, of Johnsville, died Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C.

Born March 26, 1921 in Unionville, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Hilda Martin Rippeon. She was the wife of Francis Clabaugh Fogle who died in 1998.

Mrs. Fogle was a member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren. She earned her GED in 2004. She was formerly employed at VonEiff store in Unionville, Simpson's store in Libertytown and then in the cafeteria of Liberty School. She retired in 1983 as a custodian. She enjoyed ceramics, writing poetry, word search puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Surviving are children, F. Alan Fogle and wife Judy of Mt. Airy, Linda E. Fogle and husband Larry of Johnsville and John R. Fogle and wife Betty of Taneytown; 6 grandchildren, Lynn Fogle-Harrington and husband Andy; Amanda J. Restivo and husband Steve; Michael V. Black Jr. and wife P.J.; Dustin S. Black and partner Stephanie; Christopher R. Fogle and Kimberly D. Hare and husband Scott; 11 great grandchildren, Kristen Black, Austin Black and wife Becca, Madesyn and Brayden Harrington, Ryley Hare, Emma, Hannah and Blake Restivo, Gavan and Miley Black and Dominik Campbell; and 2 great grandchildren, Gatlin and Westyn Black; sisters, Betty Rose Duvall and, Rae Virginia Carter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by brothers, Earl, Harvey Jr., Daniel and Charles Rippeon; and sisters, Mary Waddell, Anna Emerson and Ruth Hoffman.

A funeral service will be held at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren on Tuesday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Greg Quintrell, church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown on Monday, October 31 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
