Emilia Enrico Obituary

Mrs. Emilia Leone Enrico, 89, of Damascus, died Thursday, July 16, 2009. Born July 14, 1920, in Roggino Gravina, Province of Cosenza, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Carmella M. Incutti Leone. She was the wife of Carmine Enrico, who died in 1999.

Mrs. Enrico was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church of Libertytown and the Sons of Italy. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, animals, being involved with VFW and Moose activities with her late husband and spending time with her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Lena Leonard of Katy, Texas, and Jeanne Ziglar and husband, Jim, of Damascus; a son, Anthony Enrico of Alexandria, Va.; grandchildren, Michael Ziglar, Steven Ziglar and wife, Dawn, Gina DiPuma and husband, Frank, Ben Premeaux and wife, Chrissy, Christina Enrico-Scruggs and husband, Benjamin, and Joseph Enrico; great-grandchildren, Michael Jr., Corey and Savannah Ziglar, Emily and Carly DiPuma, and Violet and Miles Premeaux; two sisters, Lucy Kelly and husband, Joseph, of Baltimore, and Annie Leone of Laurel; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene and Edmund Leone.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Libertytown, with the Rev. Fr. Patrick Riffle, pastor of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Olney, as the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 20, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Road, Libertytown. A Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
