Floyd McAfee Obituary

Floyd H. McAfee, 82, of Thurmont, MD went home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2013 from Frederick Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born February 6, 1931 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Harry L. & Eva S. (Pryor) McAfee.

He served his country in the Korean War on the USS Columbus & the USS Salem from 1950-1954.

He was a longtime member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church of Foxville & a member of South Mountain Rod & Gun Club of Smithsburg.

He was employed for 28 years with Noland Company of Frederick.

He had a passion of collecting old coins, loved to trout fish & enjoyed time with friends & family, especially going to South Mountain Rod & Gun Club with his good friend Dean Toms. He will be remembered by all of his friends, especially Nancy Glass, Russ Delauter & Tootie Lenhart.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Lewis McAfee & his sister Shirley McAfee Lewis.

He is survived by his son Jerry McAfee & wife Cathy, his daughter Fay McAfee, three grandchildren Shane McAfee & wife Sarah, Ben McAfee & Beth McAfee & one great grandson Brennan McAfee.

A memorial service will be held Saturday January 4, 2014 at 11:00am at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church of Foxville with Rev. Ronald Kurtz officiating. Burial will be private & at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements were made by J.L. Davis Funeral Home of Smithsburg.
