Frances Miller Obituary

Mrs. Frances Ann Clift Miller, 85, of Frederick, died on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at the Kline Hospice House, Mount Airy. She was the wife of the late Samuel Ilo Miller, who died July 29, 1976.

Born December 19, 1919, in Elkton, Va., she was a daughter of the late Edward William and Sevilla Mae Judd Clift. Mrs. Miller was a longtime member of Grace Trinity United Church of Christ, Pearl, where she was formerly active with the Women's Fellowship; and was formerly a member of the Women of the Moose, #371, Frederick. She more recently attended FaithPoint United Methodist Church, Urbana.

She is survived by one son, William Edward Miller and wife Lynn of Frederick; six daughters, A. Jane Shows and husband F.C. "Bud" of Hagerstown, Ann Elizabeth Frank and husband John of Palm Coast, Fla., Eleanor V. Fry, of Frederick, Shirley L. Blentlinger and husband Jerry of New Market, Connie E. Richardson and husband Ray of Waynesboro, Pa., Susan T. Hahaj and husband Michael of Garland, Texas; one sister, Vesta Abbott of Broadway, Va.; 15 grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Laura Miller, Rebecca Miller, Everett Miller, Samuel Miller, Richard Miller, Pamela Rubis, Brenda Webb, Paula Nikolaisen, Ilo Blentlinger, Matthew Cline, Daniel Hahaj, Megan Hahaj, Benjamin Hahaj, and Katie Hahaj; two step-grandchildren, Kathy Moran and Jerry Blentlinger; four great-grandchildren, Christina Carney, Amanda Rubis, Brandon Nikolaisen, Kelsey Nikolaisen; two step-great-grandchildren, Hannah Moran and Lacey Blentlinger; two great-great-grandchildren, Victoria and Isaiah; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Ilo Miller II, in 1985; and one brother, Ray J. Clift; and one sister, Edith Kafta.

The family will receive friend from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, December 27 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, December 28 from the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Kline Hospice House, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702-1799.
