Frederick Carson Obituary

Fred was born in Jacksonville Illinois on January 5, 1935. He was the son of John H Carson Sr and Louise McDermott Carson. He was the brother of John H Carson Jr and Cicily Maton. Fred was blessed with the love of his stepmother, Mary Carson. He was also blessed with his stepbrother Bob Shannon and his stepsister Kathy Shannon Hepworth. Fred joined the Navy in 1952. He held the rank of Machinist Mate Third Class. He served on the destroyer USS Monssen and had the wonderful experience of going around the world. He settled in Boston, Massachusetts and married Mary Rose Cherubino in 1956. They had one son, John M Carson. In 1971, he married Patricia Heidkamp in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. They had four children - Sarah Louise Carson, Christopher Frederick Carson, Andrew Lee Carson and Katharine Ann Carson. He worked for Harry Diamond Lab for over 29 years. Fred enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was blessed with eight grandchildren - Nikki, Melissa, Travis, Sam, Erin and Megan. One of his happiest recent moments was becoming a great-grandfather to Garrett Frederick Marquis. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and taking care of his cats. For many years he was involved with Scouting in Frederick County Maryland. He enjoyed going on hikes and trips with the troop. Fred looked forward to his trips to Goshen Scout Camp with the Goshen Bears. He especially enjoyed having lunch with his old Scout friends like Kenny and Vic and all the wonderful FSK scouters. A service will be held on Jan 4, 2025, at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Libertytown Maryland at 11 AM. Reception will follow in the church hall. Frederick M. Carson
