Gary Wheeldon Obituary
Born on February 24, 1961, in Frederick, he was the son of John Benjamin Wheeldon of Frederick and the late Thelma Lorraine (Tobery) Wheeldon.
He was a graduate of Frederick High School class of 1979. Gary painted in the tri-state area for many homeowners.
Gary loved to fish and enjoyed watching the Redskins and Orioles. He took great care of his pets and never turned down a seafood meal.
In addition to his father, John, and his fiancee, Judy, he is survived by brother, James E. Wheeldon of Frederick; daughter, Kim R. Dawson and husband, Bob, of Hagerstown; grandchildren, Kyle G. Jones and fiancee, Caitlin, of Hagerstown, Kirsten R. Jones and husband, Ben, of Smithsburg, Glenn A. Rider and fiancee, Katie, of Sabillasville, and Daniel J. Rider of Hagerstown; and two great-grandchildren, Graeme and Harrison.
Besides his mother, Gary was preceded in death by daughter, Carrie A. Bowers; grandson, Michael R. Rider; and sister-in-law, Patricia D. Wheeldon.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick.
