George Crum Obituary

Mr. George Wilbur Crum, 76, of 11609 Mathews Road, Keymar, died on Monday, Dec. 13, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Frances V. Moser Crum, his wife of 50 years.

Born on Aug. 6, 1923, near Walkersville, he was a son of the late Sterley Edwin and Amy Main Crum.

Mr. Crum was a lifetime dairy farmer, operating the family farm with his wife until his retirement in September 1982 due to illness. Formerly he was a member of the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative and Frederick County Farm Bureau.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Carroll E. Crum and wife Doris of New Midway; three sisters, Margaret E. Baker and husband William of Walkersville, Helen L. Nusbaum of New Market, and Eva M. Moser and husband John of New Midway; and two brothers, Ralph Crum and wife Jane of Frederick, and Melvin M. Crum and wife Violet of Walkersville.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Maurice E. Crum and William Arthur Crum, and a sister, Lillian E. Green.

The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15. Friends may call all day Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Rutkauskas of Mount Zion Lutheran, Haughs Church, officiating. Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery, Libertytown.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Midway Volunteer Fire Co., P.O. Box 67, New Midway, Md. 21775.
