Mr. Glenn Edward Fogle

1932 - 2013

Mr. Glenn Edward Fogle, 81, of Thurmont, MD, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Christine Shockey Fogle his wife of 50+ wonderful years.


Born April 17, 1932 in Creagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Anna Bell Starner and Clarence Solomon Fogle.
He graduated from Thurmont High School in 1950 and married his late first wife, Shirley K. Weishaar in 1952. Glenn worked in con- struction. He loved doing wood working, making many rocking horses, doll houses for all his granddaughters and barns for his grandsons and for many others. He made so much more with lots of love. Glenn worked with the Boys Little League for 15+ years in Thurmont. He loved to spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and watching the Orioles play.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Bonnie Mayland and husband Jim of Buffalo Center, Iowa, Shirley Knott and husband Raymond of Emmitsburg, MD and Bryan Fogle and wife Melody, Fairfied, PA, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchil- dren, brother Frank Fogle and wife Jean of Thurmont, sister-in-law Susie Fogle and family and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Dottie Fogle, a granddaughter Tara Mayland, eight brothers, and four sisters.


The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street. Thurmont, MD on Friday, July 5, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., with Pastor James Mayland, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private. Online condolences may be expressed to staufferfuneralhome.com.
