Harry Murphy Obituary

Mr. Harry Judson Murphy III, 52, of Frederick, lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Fla.

He was husband to Catherine Lewunda for five years and father to her daughter Marise.

Born on August 12, 1954, in Los Angeles, Calif., he was the eldest son of Harry and Barbara Murphy of Frederick.

Harry served in the United States Marine Corps from 1972 to 1981 during the Vietnam War. For the last 10 years, Harry worked for the Department of State in the Foreign Service, serving as a radio technician, protecting United States Embassies throughout the world.

Besides his wife, daughter and parents, Harry will be greatly missed by his brother, Thomas Murphy and wife Louise of Corona California; sister, Therese Ayers of Frederick; brother, Richard Murphy and wife Reina of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; sister, Susan Meslovich and husband Kevin of Frederick; eight nieces and nephews, Maura and Thomas Murphy, Jessica Rivera and husband Peter, Thomas and Marc Ayers, Anthony and Carlos Murphy and Quest Meslovich; three great nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers throughout the Unite States and world.

Harry will be greatly missed!

A memorial Mass will be held at Catholic Church, St. Peter The Apostle in Libertytown, at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26.

Burial will be held May 31, at 0900 at Arlington Cemetery in Washington, D.C., with full military honors.
