Harry Reeder Obituary

Mr. Harry Roscoe Reeder, 77, of 110 E. Main St., Sharpsburg, and formerly of Rohrersville, died Monday, Feb. 14, at his home.

He was preceded in death in 1992 by his wife of 47 years, Evelyn Virginia Reeder.

Born Jan. 31, 1923, in Keedysville, he was a son of the late Emmons and Gertrude Stull Reeder.

He retired in 1981 from the State Highway Administration.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

Mr. Reeder was a 40-year member and past officer of the Rohrersville Ruritan Club, and a member of the Maryland Classified Employees Assocation and the Eagles Club, Hagerstown.

He is survived by two daughters, Judith Diane Spielman of Sharpsburg and Joan Lee Haynes of Hagerstown; one sister, Hazel Gardner of Hagerstown; two brothers, Charles Reeder of Rohrersville and Leroy Reeder of Boonsboro; four grandchildren, Pamela D. Dunn and Krista N. Wallech, both of Hagerstown, Brian S. Spielman of Williamsport and Kimberly L. Spielman of Sharpsburg; one great-granddaughter; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Loyal H. Vanderveer will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery at Locust Grove.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Rd., Hagerstown, Md. 21742.
