Ida Shoop Obituary

Ida Mae Shoop, 92, of Main St. Myersville, MD passed away Wednesday August 17, 2011 at Ravenwood Lutheran Village of Hagerstown.

Born May 28, 1919 at Smithsburg she was the daughter of the late Phillip R. and Marjorie E. (Swope) Forrest, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell E. Shoop in 1990.

She graduated from Smithsburg High School. She retired from Eyerly's / Bon Ton of Frederick after 25 years of service. She was a life member of the Myersville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary serving as president, secretary and treasure. She is survived by sisters, Olive E. Kline of Wolfsville and Patricia F. Bell of Arizona; brothers, Plillip R. Forrest, Jr. of Smithsburg and Franklin R. Forrest, Sr. of Hagerstown. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kuhn and brothers, A. Wesley Forrest and Robert L. Forrest.

Graveside services will be private and at the convenience of the family at Beaver Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Myersville Volunteer Fire Company at 301 Main St. Myersville, MD 21773.
