Crossing the Bar......
"Sunset and evening star,
and one clear call for me.
And may there be no moaning of the bar, when I put out to sea. But such a tide as moving seems asleep
Too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep turns again home. Twilight and evening bell, and after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, when I embark: For tho' from out our bourne of time and place, the flood may bear me far, I hope to see my pilot face to face, When I have crossed the bar."
Smooth sailing Uncle James. You will be missed. Rest in peace. Love, Linda (Roach) Sodaro

I only met Jamie a few times, but it was clear that he had a lot of McAllister in him - must have gotten it from his darling of a mother, Aunt Chick. He was much like his uncles who built their tugboat business: tough, hard working, committed to the job. God rest his soul.

He loved to be on his boat

I worked with Jim on and off over the decades, and he was always helpful and professional. One of the many unsung heroes in the Bechtel organization. I particularly remember that when he left Iraq in the mid to late 1970s, all the Iraqi employees who worked for him came to the airport with their families to see him off, and they were crying tears of disappointment to see him go. He had met the family members and shared meals with him and he was much loved, and they were so sorry to see him leave.
Rest in peace, Jim.

We loved and respected Uncle James throughout our lives. Thanks to our faith and our family, love carries us forward. Uncle James led a courageous life and had a way of guiding people with his his quit wit, unique responses and overall commander in chief style. May God bless Uncle James with a peaceful rest to follow his years of an action filled life.
