James Roth Obituary
Born to Willard and Irene Roth, James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. After his service, he built a life grounded in love, hard work, and family. Singing was one of his greatest joys. He sang hymns at St. Katharine Drexel, old favorites in bars, and karaoke songs late at night, often serenading his wife, Helen, who was usually mortified, but loved every moment and will always carry those memories with her. Wherever he was, his voice carried warmth, humor, and life.
James shared 34 wonderful years with his beloved wife. Together they raised a close and loving family that meant everything to him. He is survived by his wife and five children: Joe (Lindsey), Dawn (Chad), Michael (Sammie), Natasha, and Vanessa (Travis), as well as eight grandchildren: Zachery, Nicholas, Jacob, Mark, Aiden, Ellery, Charlotte, and Matthew. He also leaves behind his siblings Betty, John, Pat, and Mark. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jamie.
James loved cheering for the Washington Commanders, golfing, and spending time with his family. Above all, he will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his fashion choices on the golf course, and the endless love he shared with his family.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 8pm, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701. The Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30pm, on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8428 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. James "Jim" Roth
