James Weishaar Obituary

James Robert Weishaar, 70, of Union Bridge, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at his home.

Born July 1, 1942, in Gettysburg, Pa., he was the son of the late William Starner and Mignon Rinehart Flynn Weishaar. He was the husband of Betty Grable Weishaar, his wife of 50 years.

Mr. Weishaar was a 1960 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. He was employed for 46 years with Lehigh Portland Cement Company, Union Bridge. He was a member of Middleburg United Methodist Church, Eagles Aerie #2226 of Littlestown, Pa., and United Steelworkers Union. He loved hunting, fishing, working in his garden, woodworking and working on old cars.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Robert James Weishaar and wife Brenda, of York Springs, Pa.; John William Weishaar and wife Debbie, of New Windsor; and Darrell Wayne Weishaar, of Union Bridge; a sister, Sandra Wildisan and husband Paul, of Westminster; two brothers, Larry Weishaar and wife Pat, of Taneytown; and Randy Weishaar and wife Peggy of Westminster; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at the Terra Rubra Lions Activities Building, 6300 Middleburg Road, Keymar, with the Rev. Richard L. Michael, pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, Union Bridge, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157 or Carroll Regional Cancer Center, 555 S. Center St., Westminster, MD 21157.
