John Sigafoose Obituary

John Harrison Sigafoose Jr., of Brunswick, MD, passed away on March 26, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Born on June 7, 1947, John proudly served in the US Army Reserves and was an active member of various organizations including the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles, VFW, Moose, and Amvets.

An avid baseball fan, John dedicated 13 years coaching the Brunswick Little League, leaving a lasting impact on countless young players. Above all, John cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Rhonda, and their five babies: Scotty (wife Tammy), Tammy, Kelly (husband Kevin), Scott (wife Heather), and Butch (wife Kristy).

John was adored by his 12 grandbabies, Megan, Dalton, Ashley, Brandon, Brittany, Grant, Bryson, Blake, Jake, Mason, Camden, and Luke. 6 great-grandbabies, Lainey, Daniel, Collins, Tristen, Caleb, Jullian. His babies brought him immense joy throughout his life. His memory will also be cherished by countless friends, too numerous to list.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mission of Mercy of Frederick MD and Frederick Health Hospice, in honor of John's passion for helping others.

John will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and smooth moonshine. His infectious sense of humor that brightened even the darkest of days. Rest in peace, Pop Pop. You will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 12th at The American Legion, Brunswick MD from 7pm to 11pm. John Harrison Sigafoose Jr.

Johnny's mother was my fathers oldest sister which made us first cousins. Johnny was 1 1/2 months older than me. As children through our teens we spent a lot of time together. Sunday dinners at my grandparents home in Taylorstown, followed by play and tv. Marva League baseball, going to the beach in New Jersey with Aunt Marion and Uncle Kenny. Which led to motorcycles, parties and beer. Johnny was always up for a party. Adulthood, marriage(s), work and finally growing up separateed us, but he was and will be always in my thoughts.

John's mother was my first cousin, so that makes John my first cousin, once removed. We were the same age and classmates since the third grade when my family moved to Lovettsville. He always had a great sense of humor and was respectful to my mother - Anna Rollins Wilt. He and I had lost touch over the years, but I have good memories from our childhood. May your memories of him lift your spirits during these stressful times.
