To the friends and family of Joe. I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. I worked with Joe back 1989-90 at McGinness Drilling. Joe was awesome to work for. I was 19 years old at the time. Joe not only taught me about drilling but about life also. 28 years later I'm still running a drill and owe Joe a huge thanks for helping me out in a sometimes not so friendly business. God bless and Rest In Peace

Joe always had an idea to solve a problem, and I often sought an idea from him when I was flummoxed. I will miss his enthusiasm and the confidence he brought to the drilling world, and his friendship. What a great guy. Condolences to Cheryl and Jay, may you find the strength to carry on.

So very sorry to see Joe's obituary in the paper this morning. I really enjoyed getting to know him as a customer at Westminster Union Bank in the early years of Free State Drilling--he was an excellent customer who handled his business matters with great integrity. I was shocked and saddened to learn about the sudden passing of a colleague and my dear friend Joe.
I have known him for over thirty years. He was more than just a friend he was like a brother to me. He was very helpful, knowledgeable and paid special attention to others when they spoke. He had time for everybody. I for one am going to miss our conversations during our long drives to the NDA events.
