June Linton Obituary

June Elizabeth Keilholtz Linton, 87, of Frederick, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Fahrney Keedy Nursing Home in Boonsboro. Born June 13, 1922, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late John Benjamin Keilholtz and Ethel Bell Joy Keilholtz. She was the wife of the late Oscar C. Linton Jr.

Mrs. Linton grew up in the Middletown area. She worked on her family farm until it was sold in 1963. She then worked at the Carmack-Jays grocery store as a cashier before beginning her career as an animal caretaker at Microbiological Association in Walkersville until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and a past member of Faith United Church of Christ. Mrs. Linton had been a resident of Fahrney Keedy Nursing home since 2004. Prior to that, she had lived in the Yellow Springs area. She enjoyed trips to Chincoteague as well as drives through the country. She had a great love for her church and her family.

Surviving are her daughter Glenda and husband, Richard Etzler, of Union Bridge; grandsons Kirk Bohn of Thurmont, Brett and Page Etzler of Union Bridge, Bryan and Michele Etzler of New Windsor and Brad and Rebecca Etzler of Coos Bay, Ore.; great-grandchildren Brittany Bohn of Boonsboro, Luke Etzler of New Windsor, Brandon Etzler of Union Bridge and Cameron Etzler, Nathan Etzler and Saunder Etzler of Coos Bay, Ore., and stepgrandchildren Allison Kurtz of New Windsor, Destyni Larson of Coos Bay, Ore., Ashley O'Donnell of Richmond, Va., Corin O'Donnell of Richmond, Va., and Christopher Verlander of Camp Lejeune, N.C. She is also survived by her brother, Roger Keilholtz of Tucson, Ariz., and son-in-law, Marlin G. Bohn, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Felicia E. Bohn, who died in September 1988, and five siblings -- Alice Stull, John Keilholtz, Glen Keilholtz, Anna Leatherman and Marcline Ifert.

--Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, Frederick. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home, with the Rev. Louis Emerick officiating. Pallbearers will be Brett Etzler, Bryan Etzler, Rick Etzler, Kirk Bohn, Marlin Bohn and Luke Etzler. Interment will be in Faith United Church of Christ Cemetery, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, memory of June Linton, 9333 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702, or Washington County Hospice, memory of June Linton, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
