Larry Bowers Obituary
Larry worked for The Bowers Company near Littlestown, PA for more than 35 years. He was an active and honorary member of the Harney Volunteer Fire Company and was a social member of Harney VFW Post 6918. He enjoyed helping with all Fire Company activities, and helping his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Lynn Trankley, Leonard Bowers and wife Lori, Lisa Sowers and husband Jeff, Lee Bowers and wife Beth, and Laurie Bowers, all of Taneytown; sister, Linda Storey and husband Jim of Taneytown; grandchildren, Jay, Amanda and husband Brian, Nikki, Emily, Ashley, Bryan, Kendall, and Madelyn; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Lindsey, and son-in-law, Robert Trankley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St, Taneytown, MD, with Monsignor Martin E. Feild officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harney Volunteer Fire Company, 5130 Harney Rd, Taneytown, MD, 21787, or to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St, Taneytown, MD, 21787. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.myersdurborawfh.com.

To the Bower's Family,
My deepest sorrow. Larry will really be missed by all of us. He was one that would do anything for family and friends. I have so many memories of him, at the carnival, fire company meetings, at his house, and at Lee and Leonard's. He was very caring. Many people will also remember him at the gun jars. I just can't tell you how much I will miss him.

To Larry's family,
I am blessed and honored to have known such a kindhearted and caring man. Larry always made me laugh, whether it be something he said or something he did during some of his shenanigans with Mike. We have lost a great man. My heart aches of sorrow for you and all that knew him. I have nothing but warm memories of him and believe he is now another angel looking upon us. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm very glad we got to know Larry when we moved back, he was such a kind hearted, funny person that always made us smile. I'm glad the kids were able to spend some time with someone like him. He'll be missed and we'll be thinking and praying for you.
